HISTORY

Rylan has always been a lucky man. Born first out of a set of identical twins, and several siblings that followed, he was always the luckiest of the bunch. He had a family who loved him, but more than that, he had a title that he would eventually be able to take control of. He would have power over everything he could see from his family's keep, and more one day.

While he was growing up, he was closest to his twin, Derek, who would always follow along behind him. Rylan was born first, so it was always known that he would lead, and his brother would follow. They were closer to each other than any of their other siblings, until they got to the point of their lives where they had to leave their home for higher education. Rylan chose to go to Rayla Academy because he had the grades, and Derek chose to go instead to Temair University.

Rayla Academy was a great learning experience for Rylan, who chose to study mathamatics primarily, but was introduced to several other subjects. While he was studying plays in Literature, he began acting out scenes for his classmates. One thing lead to another, and a small group of friends he associated with started putting on small plays for other students to dull the boredom until they graduated. After graduation, he promised to keep in touch through letters if nothing else, and never again got a chance at acting.

When he arrived home after graduation, he began the grooming process for taking over his father's job of ruling Allba. He also started courting several women--not at the same time, of course--to make sure he got a wife who would fit in his life. And he did. And life was good.

Then his father died a little over a year ago. Some people were afraid that the son might not be as good at ruling as the father, but those people were worrywarts, and were never really listened to anyway. He turned out to be quite good at the job--barring a few incidents--and put any fears whatsoever to rest.

Unfortunately, since that time he and his wife, Cerise, have still not been able to have children. Nobody knows why, but it's been years since they first started trying. Recently, the couple took it upon themselves to go on the Autumn Pilgrimage to pray especially for children. His twin brother has had no such misfortune and has two children already, and currently stands to become the lord of Allba in the event of Rylan's death.

PERSONALITY

Rylan, despite his kind nature, has been known to charge into a situation--especially one that he is unfamiliar with to begin with--without looking first, causing more than a few problems. Of course, he will apoligise afterwards, but the damage is usually done. He hopes most people he associates with understand that this is just what he does, and let go of any pain he might cause them.

He has an unusual love of figures, and sums. It never presented itself early in his life--infact, many people thought Derek would be the better at maths--but as he got older he developed more of an interest in it. He enjoys finding out the exact number, and value of everything in his domain. He also has a love of acting, but hasn't been able to do anything of value with his skills for quite some time. He does impersonations of some of the other Dentorian lords when he thinks he's with a person he can trust not to repeat it to anyone.

He is a little annoyed at his general inability to father a child. Infact, it has been haunting him lately more than he wants to admit. He doesn't like the idea that he can be a good ruler except for not being able to do this one thing that is so vital. He knows the family line has very little chance of dying, but HIS line will die with him if he can't have one before he dies.

APPEARANCE

Rylan stands out most as a bold figure. He always looks like he's going to do something important, or noble; something a romanticised knight would do. He has dark hair that reaches halfway down his neck. He keeps himself groomed well, and makes sure he always looks his best when he is out where people can see him.
